The domain fashionfugitive.nl was abandoned by G+N some years ago.

Fashionfugitive.com is still owned by its originators.

THE EARLY YEARS

G+N is a Rotterdam based design studio that has notoriously been avoiding fashion seasons since 1999.

Founders Gerrit Uittenbogaard and Natasja Martens are mixing fashion and design with anything that catches their attention since the very beginning.

In 2000 G+N launched their first website and

started selling accessories online in that very same year.

At a presentation during Paris Fashion Week in March 2001

(funded by the Mondrian Foundation)

G+N pioneered by streaming candid footage of people adjusting their

outfits live from Paris.
Setup: a gallery window in Paris, a large mirror,

a webcam, and an invite that said:

'BE SEEN AT WWW.FASHIONFUGITIVE.COM'

Meanwhile, the latest collection was at showroom Carole de Bona and could only be seen there.

Hard to imagine now, but in 2001 an online presentation was for early adaptors. Most of the fashion crowd was still on dial-up, and businesses preferred fax over email those days.

Their pragmatic approach to fashion ultimately lead to the development of 'Gluejeans'

a denim line that is recognizable because of its distinctive visible, coloured glue.
A budget for raw materials and an initial financial injection for Gluejeans was crowd funded as early as in 2008.
In that same year the Gluejeans #1 won the Dutch design award for best fashion product.
